So much excitement in Rome: the Foro Italico is sold out for the swimming finals

With over 7,000 people in attendance today for the swimming evening session, the Foro Italico is sold out. Boosted by the great results of the Italian team, but also by the super performance of the Romanian David Popovici in the men's 100 freestyle semifinals (today he is going for gold, in an event that also includes the Italian athletes Miressi and Zazzeri), on the third day of the European championships, the Stadio del Nuoto and its tribunes are filled with spectators, athletes, guests and lots of kids. In Rome the enthusiasm is palpable, also enhanced by the Italian medals in the artistic swimming in the early afternoon. At 18:00 the competition starts and the party can begin.
