
Rome 2022: Italian Swimming Federation President Barelli presents the Azzurri on Tuesday at 16 at the Foro Italico
On Tuesday 9 August at 16:00 at the diving pool of the Foro Italico Swimming Stadium (entrance from Via
delle Olimpiadi), the president of the Italian Swimming Federation Paolo Barelli will present the Italian
teams for swimming, artistic swimming, open water swimming, diving and high diving that will take part in
the European Aquatics Championships on 11-21 August.
Italy will line up 104 athletes, 52 women and 52 men, including all medallists from the Olympic Games
Tokyo 2020 and the world championships in Budapest. The youngest Italians in the entire delegation are
100m breaststroke world champion Benedetta Pilato (17 years old) and diving world runner-up Matteo
Santoro (15), while the most experienced swimmers are multiple medallists Fabio Scozzoli (34) and Ilaria
Bianchi (32).
