Rome 2022. The mascot, a real-life dog that you will choose

The Rome 2022 mascot will be a living one. The vice-Olympic champion Lorenzo Zazzeri has revealed with a timelapse drawing that the mascot of the European Aquatics Championships and European Masters Championships, planned in Rome and Ostia next August, will be a dog, a rescue dog.

It will now be up to the fans of the aquatic world to decide which of the candidate dogs will be proclaimed testimonial of the event. In the next few days the video profiles of the dogs that have distinguished themselves in rescue operations will be presented and you can vote for them on Facebook and on the official website of the event www.roma2022.eu.

The decision to have a real-life mascot, which will then be replicated in peluche, was taken in order to increase the importance of life-saving processes in preventive and rescue operations for beachgoers.

Tra gli scopi che la Federnuoto persegue dalla sua fondazione c’è la diffusione della cultura dell’acqua, della formazione e dell’aggiornamento degli assistenti bagnanti, della prevenzione del pericolo in fase di balneazione e della promozione degli strumenti tecnici e delle regole di condotta da conoscere per vivere responsabilmente le proprie attività nei mari che circondano gli 8000 chilometri di costa italiana e gli specchi d’acqua lacuali e fluviali.
Sono oltre centomila gli assistenti bagnanti della Federnuoto che ci proteggono e che sono rappresentati anche dalle selezioni nazionali di nuoto per salvamento, tra i leader ai Campionati Europei di salvamento del 2019 e prossimi protagonisti ai Campionati Mondiali in programma dal 21 settembre al 2 ottobre a Riccione.
Obiettivo mortalità zero.
