“ITALY SUPPORTS UKRAINE”

At the Polo Acquatico Frecciarossa in Ostia there was a common training session between the Ukrainian and Italian national artistic synchro swimming teams. After arriving on Tuesday morning, the Ukrainian athletes restarted training, which had been suspended a couple of weeks ago due to the war.

For their first training together, the two teams organised a combo entitled "Italy supports Ukraine". The exhibition ended with a circle made up of the Ukrainian synchronettes and in the middle the Italians Giorgio Minisini, Lucrezia Ruggiero, Costanza Ferro and Linda Cerruti, as if to reciprocate the embrace and warmth they are receiving in these days.

“Pensare che sono state ferme due settimane, in un contesto doloroso, e vederle nuotare con questa grinta – afferma Giorgio Minisini – è stato veramente una grande ispirazione. Sono ragazze molto forti!”. “Avevamo iniziato ad allenarci in Ucraina per i campionati europei di Roma 2022 – aggiunge Vlada Alekseeva – adesso continueremo a farlo con maggiore determinazione”.

The last three athletes and three coaches of the Ukrainian national artistic swimming team are planned to arrive tonight at the Frecciarossa Aquatic Centre in Ostia.
