Roma 2022: masters athletes’ list official for individual events

With less than a month to go before the start of the European Masters Aquatics Championships scheduled for 24 August with open water swimming in Ostia, Roma 2022 has published the final list of athletes entered in all sports disciplines.

There are large numbers of athletes entered in the swimming competition with more than 3,300 athletes competing for the scheduled events from the M25 to M90 categories. The events will begin on 28 August at the two venues of the Stadio del Nuoto at the Foro Italico Park and of the Unipol Blustadium in Pietralata, located in the district of the same name on the eastern outskirts of Rome. 

Important participation is expected also in artistic swimming, the 'dance on water', which will take place from 25 to 29 August in the temporary pool set up at the Nicola Pietrangeli stadium. There will be 400 athletes, including a men's group that will make the event even more prestigious.
There will also be a good athletes’ presence in diving, also hosted at the Stadio del Nuoto from 26 to 31 August: between individual and synchronised diving from the 1 and 3 metre springboard and from the platform, around 200 athletes will take part in the competition. Finally, for the water polo matches, to be hosted by the Polo Acquatico Frecciarossa, there will be 57 participating teams and 900 male and female players taking to the water from Monday 29 August.

The European Masters Aquatics Championships are finally taking shape. For 12 days, the 5000 athletes from 38 nations will animate the competition venues guided by their unmistakable spirit. The masters people, in the name of sporting inclusion, will enjoy Rome and all of Latium region for more than two weeks with their families and friends.
And, at the conclusion of the events, they will bring back a unique memory of sport, history and charm that only the Eternal City can offer.
