PARCO DEL FORO ITALICO | Campi 1 – 2 Circolo del Tennis

Viale delle Olimpiadi - Roma

HIGH DIVING
CAMPI 1-2 CIRCOLO DEL TENNIS
18 - 20 AUGUST

At the European Championships in Roma 2022, the Foro Italico sporting facility will host swimming and diving events at the Swimming Stadium, artistic swimming at the Nicola Pietrangeli Stadium, and high diving in courts 1 and 2 that are adjacent to the Tennis Club, where the Internazionali tennis tournament is played every year.

The diving tower will be 30 metres high and the pool will have a base of 17x17 metres with a depth of 6 metres. There will be two platforms from which the athletes will dive: 27 metres for men, 21 metres for women.

High diving is a sporting discipline related to diving but with completely different features, such as the obligatory entry into the water with the feet. Originating in 2001 with the creation of the first international organisation CDA (Cliff Diving Alliance), high diving has spread in the field of extreme sports; athletes diving from platforms reach speeds of 85 km/h in free fall before entering the water.
Since 2013 it has been included in the competition programme of the FINA world aquatics championships.

High diving will be featured for the first time in a European championship in Rome from 18 to 20 August.
