Roma 2022: official timetable released. First final in artistic swimming

With 20 days to go until the start of the European Aquatics Championships, Roma 2022 has released the official timetable with the detailed schedules of all disciplines that are part of the event’s competition programme consisting in 77 finals.

Competition starts with swimming on 11 August at 9:00, which officially opens the European championships at the Foro Italico swimming stadium; half an hour later at the Nicola Pietrangeli stadium the artistic swimming competition will also begin. From 15 August the diving competition kicks off at the swimming stadium while open water swimming at Ostia and high diving at Campi 1 and 2 of the Foro Italico Tennis Club are both planned to start on 18 August.

On 11 August, the first Roma 2022 medal event will be the artistic swimming technical team routine, with the finals scheduled at 15:00. For swimming, in the early afternoon, the highlights will be the finals of the men's and women's 4x200m freestyle relays starting from 18:51.
From 12 August competition includes morning sessions with preliminaries in artistic swimming and heats in swimming, with the afternoon and evening sessions dedicated to the finals of both disciplines. Watch out, however, for the mornings of 14 and 15 August where at the Pietrangeli stadium, in addition to two preliminaries, there are two finals in the men's and women's solo events scheduled from 9:30. In swimming the podiums will be awarded in the evening session from 18:00-20:00 with an average of seven finals a day and as many as victory ceremonies. Expectations are high for the finals on Tuesday 16 August where racing will continue until 20:30 and where at 18:52 there will be the 1500m freestyle with Olympic and world champion Gregorio Paltrinieri, who i salso Roma 2022 ambassador.

From 15 August the diving competition will start with a daily session on 15, 16, and 17 August starting at 12:00, followed by two sessions on the remaining days from 18 to 21 August, from 10:00 in the morning and 15:00 in the afternoon.
In Ostia, open water swimming competitions will take place at 9.00 on 18 and 19 August for the 5km and 10km respectively, and at 7:00 for the 25km events on Saturday 10 August. Finally, for high diving, taking place from 18 to 20 August at the Foro Italico, competition runs from 18:00 to 19:00 with the women's final on 19 and the men's final on 20 August.
