Great success for the European Championships also on TV: audience records on Rai Due
Italy win in the pool and the European Championships also win on Rai, the host country's state TV: yesterday's finals, 13 August, achieved record of viewers on Rai Due. The average share, between 18:00 and 20:00, was 10.9%, with about one million viewers. The peak (15.3%) was between 18:28 and 18:34, when Italy's Benedetta Pilato was in the pool clinching gold in the women's 100m breaststroke, ahead of countrywoman Lisa Angiolini, silver.
Great achievement also for artistic swimming, in which Italy excelled winning gold with the pair Giorgio Minisini and Lucrezia Ruggiero in the mixed duet free, and bronze with Linda Cerruti and Costanza Ferro in the duet free event: from 15 to 16:50, there were almost 752,000 viewers in front of the TV, equal to a 9.3% share.
