MARTA FIEDINA RETURNS TO UKRAINE WITH HER SIX ARTISTIC SWIMMING GOLDS: HER SMILE BEYOND THE WAR
Marta Fiedina, the Ukrainian artistic swimming champion who won six gold medals at the European Aquatics Championships in Rome, has returned home to Ukraine. From Kharkiv, a city in the midst of war, the champion wanted to send her message: she posed with all her medals and the flag of her country, and then wrote: "This is all for you, our native land. Proud to be Ukrainian, I know that the most important victory is close."
Shortly before leaving Rome, however, she had thanked Italy for everything 'you have given us and for sharing with us the most difficult moments of our lives. You will always have a special place in my heart. Thanks also to the Italian Swimming Federation and the Rari Nantes Savona, we are infinitely grateful to you'. Marta Fiedina and the other Ukrainian athletes have been training in Italy over the past few months thanks to the Italian Federation's hospitality and for this they wished to reiterate their gratitude.
