Roma 2022 presented at the Foro Italico University

This morning, the executive director of Roma 2022 Bruno Campanile met the students of the University of Rome 'Foro Italico' to present the organisational path leading up to the European Aquatics Championships and the European Masters Championships, that are scheduled in Rome from 11 to 21 August and from 24 August to 4 September.

During the presentation Campanile underlined the ancestral relationship between Rome and water, and the goals that led the Italian Swimming Federation to bid for the organisation of the 36th edition of the continental event, also stressing out the related returns in terms of global image for the local territory, general promotion of aquatic disciplines (swimming, artistic swimming, open water swimming, diving, high diving, water polo) and the economic impact for arts and culture, tourism and sports in Rome and the Latium Region.

In terms of communication and marketing, the event will provide a showcase for water sports enthusiasts, Federal Swimming Schools, and tourists, to spread the culture of water and the water world, and support cultural and heritage tourism in Rome.

To the students it was presented the opportunity to actively experience the European Aquatics Championships in the role of volunteers to give their contribution to one of the most awaited international sporting events in Italy and Europe: an experience that would give them the chance to deepen their University studies with a practical activity in support of the event, following their passions.
