Fukuoka FINA World Championships goes to July 2023

The 19th FINA World Championships in Fukuoka have been rescheduled to 14-30 July 2023 . The competition were initially in calendar from 13 to 29 of May 2022. FINA (Federation Internationale de Natation) has decided to reschedule the event due of the pandemic, which makes it impossible to manage the event safely.

The event had originally been scheduled from 16 July to 1 August 2021 and is now in its second postponement. The Masters World Championships have been postponed until a later date.
Subsequently, the 20th FINA World Championships in Doha, Qatar, originally scheduled for November 2023, will be held in January 2024.
For the first time, in the same year as the Olympics and the world title will be held for about six months. 
This change to the international calendar makes the European Championships in swimming, open water swimming, diving, high diving and artistic swimming in Rome, from 11 to 21 August, one of the most important international competitions of the year and a central event in the activities of the old continent.
